3/29/23 – This is a WW2 original Luftwaffe Gravity knife. The knife is in good overall condition, but does have a few issues. Most notably is the slight bulge along the side, just below the release lever. This doesn’t seem to affect functionality, however it’s worth noting that the blade does fall freely about 2.5 inches when the release lever is locked. The blade does properly lock into place when fully released, and falls back into the handle properly when the lever is pushed as well. The blade shows signs of sharpening and use along the edge, and there are various small surface scratches on each side. No maker stamp on the blade. The release lever is unmarked as well, with evidence that a number once present was removed. The interior number at the base of the handle is still present, as is the original Luftwaffe proof stamp on the base of the spike, as shown. The wood handle and exterior is clean and in great overall condition.
