1/19/23 – This is an original Luftwaffe Gravity Knife from WW2. This example is in excellent overall condition with a very clean blade that’s maker marked by SMF. The blade is unsharpened and has minimal surface scratching and visible cross-graining. The release lever is fully functional and matching numbered 582, although the internal plate at the lower portion of the grip is numbered “27” as shown in photos. The external metal parts have no visible finish and have a shiny, polished look overall. No rust or pitting, and minimal surface patina. The fold-out spike is Luftwaffe proof stamped on the base. The wood grip has a few minor dents / bruises but no cracks or chips.
