6/15/23 – This is an original WW2 Luftwaffe Flak Artillery Visor Cap. The cap has an excellent exterior with minty condition blue-gray exterior wool with clean red piping. The exterior black visor band is tight and excellent overall, but there is some mild surface discoloration around the front. The attached aluminum cockade and Luftwaffe eagle are in great condition with excellent detail. The leather chin strap and visor have a dull lacquered finish, likely from a previous owner trying to clean or buff the exterior, but this is a minor takeaway. The visor interior has a nice diamond pattern and dark green color. The interior leather headband has a small rip / hole in the front as shown, but otherwise is in good condition. The interior crown is in great shape, with some mild surface stains. The celluloid cover is intact and maker marking is easily visible. Size marked 57.5, which is a desirable larger size.
