8/22/24 – This is an original Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge by Gustav Brehmer. Wartime production made from zinc with zinc eagle attached to the front. Most of the silver wash finish is worn, with natural surface patina and honest age throughout. Great detail found on the wreath and some light rub wear on the high edges of the eagle. The reverse shows a “G.B.” maker stamp by Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen. Correct style steel barrel hinge and catch with straight wire pin. Traces of the silver wash finish are found near the base of the barrel hinge and catch. A very nice, honest example with sharp details.
