9/6/23 – This is a late WW2 production Type 30 Japanese rifle bayonet by Jinsen Arsenal. The bayonet is cited in Labar’s book as LB-162 variation R. The bayonet features a phosphate-finished unfullered blade that has some dark surface patina but no major rust or pitting. Rough machine marks throughout. The hand guard is straight with similar phosphate style finish and light patina throughout. The wood grips are 2 pieces and are held together by 2 rivets. The pommel is squared off and shows dark patina throughout. Numbered as shown on the top of the pommel. Comes with a late-war style bamboo scabbard that’s in fair condition. There’s some cracks and a split along the rounded edge, but the bayonet is still completely intact.
