6/30/23 – This is a late WW2 production example of a Type 30 Japanese Rifle bayonet. The bayonet features an unfullered blade in great overall condition with most of the original blued finish intact. There’s some thinning and mild finish loss throughout but no major issues. Maker stamped by TALW at the base of the blade. The bayonet also features a straight cross guard, wrap around wood grips with 2 rivets, and a rectangular pommel. Variation Q, LB 145 in Labar’s book. The bayonet also comes with a bamboo scabbard, although the scabbard was broken and appears to have been glued back together – this is shown in photos.
