2/27/24 – This is a stunning Late WW2 NCO Japanese officer, Katana, with a leather portapee and scabbard. The sword has the lightest spots of patina here and there, with no amount of heavy corrosion on the blade. The edge has no knicks and has no evidence of sharpening. A serial/batch number on the right side of the blades reads 66873. The scabbard does not match the serial number on the blade and is quite difficult to distinguish. Attached to the pommel is a very nice leather portapee not commonly seen on these swords. The scabbard has no original paint left but is free from dents or cracks.
