7/9/18 – This is a later 5 million serial Winchester M1 Carbine from late 1944. It has the correct, adjustable sight as those were install starting in late ’44. Low wood stock, no bayo lug. Excellent cartouche and inspector marks on right side of the stock. Correct wide barrel band and ‘M’ marked mag release. There is a notable surface scratch on the left side stock but it is not a crack. Excellent bore and finish to metal. Barrel is marked both ‘W’ and with the Winchester maker mark in oval. Excellent bore.
