11/18/22 – This is a late-war example of an Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The bolt is mismatched from the rest of the gun, but it does have a completely intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. There is very little actual finish loss on this gun, but there is obvious brown patina and spotty oxidation covering all of the metal parts. There are also areas of pin-pricking here and there and some areas of light surface rust, most noticeable around the muzzle. There is no major damage to the stock, but there are small dings and bruises throughout. A spot of white paint on the left side of the butt stock. The bore is poor – worn rifling with oxidation and minor pitting throughout. No cleaning rod.
