7/241/7 – This is an extremely late Walther ac 45 P.38 in the ‘d’ block.  That is the last known block for Walther P.38’s, and this one is a bit of an oddball, as many end of war pistols are.  The frame and barrel have very crudely numbered serials that match the slide, and the ‘d’ on the frame is actually an upside-down ‘p’ when you look closely.  The barrel is also WaA76 marked, denoting it was manufactured at the fnh factory in Czechoslovakia. Combine those facts with the phosphate small parts, the lone E/359 proof on the slide, and the unmarked locking block, and this pistol certainly makes you wonder exactly the conditions under which it was put together in ’45.  Excellent reddish Walther grips and a late-war P.38 U marked magazine.  Bore has some freckling but decent overall.
