3/24/22 – This is a fairly rare sub-variation of the Colt 1911A1 from World War II. Accompanied by supporting archive letter, it was made in December of 1942 and is one of the few 1942 manufactured Colt’s with G.H.D. inspector marking. It’s original with matching numbered slide. Slide shows some freckling in a few areas, and some wear around the muzzle. Frame has some patina but not much finish loss. Barrel is Colt-made with an ‘S’ under the lug. Excellent grips. ‘S’ marking on magazine.
