5/11/17 -This is an original, and rare Police German Kripo Badge/Disk. These were worn and used by German detectives during WW2. The detective division was called the Staatliche Kriminalpolizei or “Kripo”. There were three types of badges/disks used by the Germans: Gestapo, Staatliche Kripo and Gemeinde Kripo. Staatliche is the state level (this badge), and Gemeinde was the local level. This disc was shown to Don Bible, the leading expert on these items, who confirmed that it is indeed original, but also the earliest known recorded number!
