5/24/19 – This is a beautiful, all original WWII Navy (Kriegsmarine) Officer’s Sword. The sword is triple etched, meaning there are engravings on each side of the blade, as well as the spine of the blade. The left side of the blade is maker stamped by E.&F. Horster. The blade is nearly flawless with only one or two very small spots of oxidation / wear. The handguard has hinges on each side, one to lock the blade into the scabbard, and the other to fold up as there can be tight quarters on a U-Boat. The beige bakelite handle has no cracks, and the lion pommel has two different colored emeralds – green and red – one for each eye. The scabbard has excellent leather and metal fixtures. A truly beautiful and rare collectible sword.
