7/25/22 – This is an original German Kriegsmarine (Navy) Flag that comes with a hand-written letter from the Veteran who sent this home on May 4th, 1945. The letter comes with the original mailing envelope as well. The letter mentions this “Nazi Naval Ensign” included with the note, and the envelope also lists the contents including “Nazi Flag”. There’s no way to guarantee this is the flag that was included with the note. However, this does come to us from a collector who claims to have bought this from the Veteran’s family. The flag is 80x135cm and in excellent condition. Ink stamped with a Kriegsmarine proof as shown. There’s a few very mild stains but no rips or holes in the cloth. Excellent stitching throughout and the original hanging chord still attached.
