2/23/24 – This is an excellent example of a K98 bayonet and scabbard with frog. This example is not maker marked or dated but in excellent condition with a majority of its bluing remaining. The blade has great bluing, minimal scratches, and no sign of sharpening. The hand guard has a little wear on the left side. The wood grip is in excellent condition other than some dents on the left side. The pommel is minty with two WaA88s. The release button is also stamped WaA88. The scabbard is in minty condition with little wear and stamped WaA88 on the tip. The frog is maker stamped Thiele A.G. Dresden 1934, and torn on the front side, see photos. Overall a great piece.
