7/5/22 – This is a WW2 Japanese Navy Officer’s Sword. The sword comes with an attached cloth with Japanese writing – we’re not sure the translation, but see photos. The sword features a clean blade, original fittings, and an original scabbard. The blade has a nice tempered edge and has a few small spots of discoloration and mild surface wear but no chips or dings along the edge, nor any significant damage throughout the blade. The hand guard is slightly loose, but this is a common flaw. The hand guard washers and hand guard are all matching numbered as shown in photos. The original handle is in great condition, but the mekugi is a bit worn. The scabbard is in great overall condition despite missing the attachment pin / screw on the toe fitting.
