5/2/22 – This is a late / end-of-war example T30 Japanese rifle bayonet. Appropriate for the Type 38 and Type 99 rifles. This example features a straight handguard and a “slab side” or unfullered blade, and steel scabbard. The blade has some light surface rust on each side amongst the original blued finish. Two-thirds of the edge has been sharpened and there are typical signs of patina and aging. The base of the blade is maker stamped as shown. The wood handle is in great shape and the hilt has some light surface patina throughout but no major issues.
