1/4/24 – This is a James Reid “My Friend” Knuckle-Duster Revolver, chambered in .22 Short. Manufactured from 1868 to 1882, these revolvers were intended to served the dual-purpose of pocket pistol and set of brass knuckles. It has a top strap groove sight with the left side marked “MY FRIEND PAT’D. DEC. 26, 1865”. It has a nickel-plated finish and has a filigree engraving pattern. The finish rates roughly 50% with obvious wear throughout. Noticeable patina on the cylinder. Very nice smooth bore. Fully functional.
