8/7/18 – This is an International Harvester M1 Garand made between 1952 and 1954. Most of the internal parts are Springfield Armory marked, which is correct for the first few years of production for International Harvester. They were buying up parts from other manufacturers to help get their production moving. The stock feels like-new and was probably re-varnished at some point. The only stamp on the stock is a “P” proof on the underside. There is a black stain on the forward hand guard (right side). The stock is clean overall. The metal parts have very minmal exterior wear except for some pitting on the receiver near the forward end (where the receiver meets the wood). The action is smooth and the bore is in good condition, although there is some noticeable residue / wear within the grooves. The grooves are prominent though, which gives the bore an overall 7 out of 10 (would most likely clean out nicely).
