2/27/24 – This is an interesting example of a unique Springfield Model 1911 from WWI with no serial number. Many of the parts are un-marked, but the barrel, grip safety, frame safety, and slide stop are Springfield-marked. There gun shows no evidence whatsoever of ever having a serial number. We cannot explain this anomaly – maybe it’s a “lunchbox special”! In any case, it is a very unique piece. The original finish rates roughly 80% with spotty wear and light scratching throughout, most obvious on the grip straps. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper two-tone magazine with lanyard loop. Excellent bore.
