6/10/20 – This is a terrific example of a second run M1A1 paratrooper carbine as produced by Inland in late 1944. The rifle appears all correct for a second run example, with about 98% of the original blue remaining. There’s very little finish loss on the metal parts but there is some freckling on the barrel and muzzle. Barrel is dated to November of 1944. P proof on the front of the pistol grip is common for second run rifles. It’s also marked RI/3, which is also correct. Rear sight is the adjustable variant. Folding stock is original, including the buttplate and the cheekpad. Bore is mint and hardly looks used. The wood stock is in excellent condition aside from the very common indents where the folded stock presses against the left side.
