12/29/21 – This is a scarce M1 Carbine that was produced by I.B.M. in 1944. A full parts list is included in the photos for the listing, but this one is nearly all correct. The most notable potential issue is that the stock was sanded, and the maker mark in the sling well is very faint. An ‘I’ appears to be visible but can’t say for certain. The crossed cannon cartouche on the right side is still visible. Otherwise, it has correct IBM parts throughout and the adjustable sight can be correct for this serial range. Some wear on the bolt, slide and receiver, and some surface scratches on the barrel. Strong, shiny bore though. Minty stock with no cracks or chips.
