11/15/22 – This is an original WW1 era production German Hunting Association Hirschfanger. The dagger comes with an original scabbard as shown. The double-etched blade is approximately 18 inches long with overall length of 25 inches (not including the scabbard). The blade has light floral etchings with knight’s armor on one side, and a drum and eagle on the other. The ricasso is maker stamped by WKC. The clam shell stopper, hand guard, pommel, and acorn embellishments on the handle all have surface patina and discoloration from aging and wear. Everything fits nicely together, and only the clam shell has some very mild “play” or wiggles slightly. The stag handle has no cracks or chips. Comes with an original scabbard that shows aging but has great leather and metal fittings.
