12/3/21 – This is a nice example of a Gustloff-Werke KKW training rifle. The K. K. Wehrsportgewehr rifles were the standard pre-war training rifles used by the German military and were intended to duplicate the weight and feel of the standard K98 rifle. This one is all correct and has “Eagle N” firing proofs, indicating it was made in the 1940’s. The gun has retained almost all of its finish. There is, however, noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Heavy brown patina on the butt plate. There is a spot weld on the left side of the rear sight, and it looks like one of the floor plate screws has been replaced. The stock is very nice with minor dings, dents, and scratches throughout. Small crack behind the receiver. Minty bore, shiny with strong rifling.
