12/1/23 – This is a unique example of a M91/30 Mosin Nagant. This Mosin started its life as a Soviet rifle but was captured by the Germans, then was given to the Finnish Army as they were allies with Germany. The rifle has then been reworked by the Finns to what it is today. The rifle retains 95% of its finish and the wood is also in great shape. The receiver is marked with the Tula star and the boxed SA to denote Finnish property. German captured 91/30s were characterized by a blued bolt which this rifle has and the bolt is original to the rifle. The rifle got a new stock from the Finns and has a “Potbelly” stock. It is also “Finnish Matching” where only the barrel shank and the bolt match. The front sight also has the unique stacked post which is seen on Tikka M30s. The bore is fully frosted over but has a hint of brightness below it with good rifling.
