5/1/24 – This is a rare variation late WW2 Axis pistol holster for 7.65mm pistols such as the Sauer 38h, Mauser HSC, or Beretta M1934 (to name a few). The holster is stamped with a “sat 44” maker code and date under the closure strap on the side flap of leather. The closure strap is also stamped “GECO”. There’s limited research and not many known examples of these holsters, but from what we know, we believe these were late war commercial holsters with not very many examples in existence today. Further, this example has an interior ink stamp “1889” which is likely a supplier or distributor stamp of some kind. Worth noting is that this holster is made from thicker, high quality leather typically found on earlier wartime examples and rare for a 1944 production such as this. Beautiful, all original stitching throughout as well.
