6/23/17 – This is an original, pre WW2 production Mauser “G Date” Luger. The “G” marking was a code the Germans used prior to WW2 when they had to produce weapons in secret to avoid breaking peace treaties they signed after WW1. These iconic Lugers are very hard to find, especially in nice condition. This G Date is in exceptional condition with about 1% of the bluing worn. This wear is found near the muzzle, and some light thinning on the side plate, as well as thinning on the back strap. The straw colored parts are also thinning and most of the straw is worn off of the trigger and safety bar. However, the straw finish is still evident and pronounced on the sear bar and mag release button, shown on the right side of the pistol. The grips are minty with a strong diamond pattern and have no cracks or chips. The proper small parts, including toggle pins and grip screws, are properly fire blued and original. The magazine is 100% original and authentic, and matching serial numbered to the pistol.
