12/21/22 – This is a Mauser P.38 put together by the French immediately after WW2. It is all matching and has a French star proof on the slide. They used some leftover Nazi parts, as evidenced by a waffen proof on the barrel. It has retained about 96-97% of its finish with very minor thinning on the front strap and hints of wear on the front edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Comes with excellent WW2-era grips and a waffen-proofed Mauser magazine. The bore is mint. Functional de-cocker. There is lots of thick grease in the internals – would benefit from a good cleaning.
