10/5/21 – This is a nice example of a Mauser P.38 assembled by the French using leftover Nazi parts immediately after WW2. It is all matching, has a French Star on the right side of the slide, and a “Waffen 135” Nazi military proof on the barrel. It comes with desirable French “grey ghost” grips. It has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. There is thinning on the front strap and on both sides of the slide. There is also minor wear concentrated on the high edges of the slide, around the muzzle, and on the underside of the trigger guard. There are light surface scratches on the whole slide and on the underside of the frame. A few areas of minor pitting on the right side of the slide. It comes with a matching-numbered waffen-proofed magazine. The magazine was numbered post-factory and was likely done by a police arsenal. The bore is near-mint. De-cocker is functional. The slide occasionally has some trouble locking back on its own.
