9/6/23 – This is an original French Lebel M1886 Spike Bayonet. The bayonet comes with an original scabbard, as shown. Great overall condition with a relatively clean blade. There’s some mild surface oxidation and light spots of speckling discoloration but no major issues. The blade measures 34cm long. Stamped with a number “8” at the base of the blade. The hand guard / quillion is serial numbered on the underside. Dark patina throughout. Early style nickel-silver handle with some light dings and mild dents on one side but no major issues. Overall length is 45.7cm. The scabbard retains most of the original finish, although there is some natural brown patina mixed throughout, and small areas of finish loss.
