10/30/23 – This is a Finnish-issued M1891 Mosin Nagant that was rebuilt at the VKT State Arsenal in Finland during the Winter War against the USSR. The rifle has avoided being refurbished after the war and is in “as issued” condition. The rifle retains 50% of its original finish and the metal has a layer of patina. The rifle is “Finnish Matching” which only has the barrel shank and the bolt matching; the rest was not re-numbered during rebuilds. The stock is in good condition and has a Finnish wartime splice at the mid-section. The bore is very dark with visible rifling remaining. Qualifies as antique because the receiver was produced pre-1899.
