11/7/24 – This is the finest example we’ve seen of the iconic MP40 submachine gun, as made by Steyr in 1941. The MP-40 was the successor to the MP-38 model. Both were intended to be compact bust fire power weapons especially suited for dismounted vehicle troops but was issued in ever increasing numbers to troops of all kinds. It is slow firing, comfortable to shoot, durable, with readily available parts. This particular example is all matching numbers throughout except for the barrel rest. The original finish is excellent, with minimal bluing loss overall and just a couple minor areas of pitting. WaA623 proofs found all over this one. Shoulder stock employs properly and quite tight when extended. Strong, shiny bore with only minor signs of use. Includes original sling. Receiver is ’41 dated with ‘bnz’ maker code. Listing includes a total of FOUR magazines. This weapon is fully transferable on ATF form 3 or form 4 as C&R eligible.
