12/4/23 – This is a fantastic example of a US Model 1903a3 made by Remington Arms during World War 2. The Model 1903a3 is an update to the 1903 rifles used during WW1 and is simplified for manufacturing with stamped parts. The rifle retains the majority of its finish and has no blemishes to note. The bore is very bright with some frosting in the bore. The rear barrel band looks to be a replacement as it’s a polished blue and does not match with the rest of the rifle. The stock has a “FJA” inspection stamp on the left side. There is some finish wear on the bore. The bayonet lug has surface rust around it which can be cleaned up. The rifle comes with a brown leather sling.
