9/27/23 – This is an extraordinarily rare Kongsberg Model 1914 pistol in its original shipping box. This is the first such example we have encountered, and one of only 20 to have been produced! These guns were produced by Kongsberg Vapenfabrikk in 1987 as the company “considered the possibilities and problems in returning to the manufacture of handguns. To gain experience and obtain information for long-range planning, it was decided to make a small lot of pistols, substantially following the pattern of our earlier manufacture.” They made 20 such pistols, and assigned serial numbers based off a continuation of their production that had ended in the 1940s. This particular pistol is obviously one of those 20, and features a target trigger. It has all matching numbers throughout, and the finish is in mint condition. All 20 of these pistols were imported by Benet Arms of Afton, Virginia, and will all feature that company’s import mark. As stated, this one comes in the original shipping box with matching serial number. A twin example sold on Rock Island for nearly $10,000!
