9/17/2024 – For sale is a very rare Remington Model 40-X rifle made in 1958. These USMC training rifles were also used as Navy Trophy rifles that were presented to USMC members that won shooting competitions. In this case, it appears the rifle was presented to LCPL Sean D. Morris in 2008 for winning the 2008 Far East division matches. The rifle has an excellent military-blue finish on the receiver and barrel. The stock is in equally nice condition without any cracks or breaks. The rubber buttpad is fairly worn and missing some chips. The barrel date is stamped “P E” for June of 1958. The bore is very bright with great visible rifling.
