10/26/22 – This is a rare early Walther P.38, marked and known as the Mod HP or M/39, that was part of the second Swedish contract order for these pistols. There were only about 500 of this variant produced, all in April of 1940. This exact gun is recorded by serial number as a known example in Krutzek’s “The P.38 Pistol” book. It has retained about 97% of its really nice high polish finish. There is just some light spotty / scratchy wear on the front strap and underside of the trigger guard. Comes with excellent and correct black bakelite grips and a “Waffen 135” marked Mauser magazine. The bore is excellent – shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional. The slide does not lock back automatically with this magazine.
