10/10/24 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, has the proper military acceptance proof on the left side of the frame, and is “United States Property” marking on the underside of the barrel. It’s original bluing rates about 90-92%. Since nearly all of the finish loss is on the grip straps (along with some very light brown patina), the profile views are minty. Just some very light flaking in the finish on the right side of the frame and some very light freckling on the cylinder. Fitted with period-correct grips that are numbered but mismatched. Mint bore.
