11/16/24 – For sale is a scarce Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle made by Springfield with the Ram Rod bayonet. The rifle is also marked for the 9th New York Infantry on the stock. The metal has a dark finish that is browning with age but no pitting or corrosion. The trapdoor and receiver still have some of their case color finishes visible. The stock is in excellent shape with a slight tiger stripe pattern visible on the left side. The right side of the stock and spine are stamped with information about the 9th NY Infantry. The bore is bright with great rifling but there is very minor prickling of pitting visible in the lands.
