10/20/22 – This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, has the proper military inspection proof, and is “United States Property” marked on the underside of the barrel. It has retained about 96-97% of its original high polish finish. There are areas of small dots of discoloration and tiny pits on the left side of the barrel and on the back strap. Very light roll mark on the cylinder. Excellent case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Comes with very nice period-correct wood grips – some minor bruising on the left side. Original lanyard loop is intact. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
