9/16/22 – This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked under the barrel, and has a proper flaming bomb military proof on the left side of the frame. It has retained about 95% of its original high polish bluing. Very nice case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Generally, there is very minor wear around the high edges and around the muzzle. Tiny scratches here and there, visible throughout. Minor spotty wear and pin-pricking on both grip straps. Comes with period-correct grips – the right panel is hand-numbered to match the gun. There are minor bruises on both grip panels. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
