8/9/23 – This is an excellent example of a Smith and Wesson Victory revolver, manufactured in 1942. It is all matching and has the proper “US Property GHD” marking on the top strap. These were typically used as standard issued side arms for US Navy and Marine air crews due to their size and ease of operation. The revolver has retained nearly all of its original parkerized finish. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there are visible signs of oxidation on the cylinder and throughout the frame, more pronounced on the right side. There is a minor turn line on the cylinder, and just a few tiny hints of wear and very light surface scuffs here and there. Beautiful case-hardening on the hammer and trigger. Comes with an excellent set of original matching Walnut grips, serialized on the right panel. There are a few small dings on the bottom of the left grip panel. The bore is like-new. Mechanics are good, however the cylinder moves with slight resistance when releasing/locking up. We believe this is likely due to dried grease.
