10/1/24 – This is an excellent example of a M1921 Mauser “Bolo”, manufactured in the late 1920’s. The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, imposed restrictions on pistol barrel lengths and calibers on German arms manufacturers. Mauser began manufacturing a compliant version of the C96 for commercial sale with shorter, 3.9 inch barrel. This one is all matching and “Double Crown U” proofed. It has retained about 96% of its original bluing with minor high edge wear and a few small dots of oxidation here and there. A few tiny scratches and handling marks. Excellent fire-bluing on the small parts. Fitted with minty matching-numbered wood grips. Mint bore.
