12/28/23 – This is an original 1918 US Trench Fighting Knife by LF&C. This example is in excellent condition, with a remarkable amount of original finish still present throughout the handle, blade, and scabbard. This is the nicest example we’ve encountered, as they often come worn with no visible finish remaining. The blade appears unsharpened, but there is some dark discoloration throughout, as well as light surface scratches from scabbard rub. The handle has light edge wear and mild thinning throughout the original finish. The scabbard is in great shape with a few spots of discoloration, and both prongs are broken.
