5/20/22 – This is a minty example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1945. The gun is “United States Property” marked, has the proper “FAJ” inspection marking, and has a cross-cannon military cartouche. Flannery barrel. The gun comes as a rig with a nice 1918-dated Hoyt holster, an original rope lanyard, one box (50 cartridges) of original ammo, a cleaning rod, a 1943-dated canvas ammo pouch, and three period-correct magazines. The holster looks like the stitching was reinforced on the top flap. There is blue-green verdigris on all of the brass fittings. We recommend cleaning this off before putting the gun in the holster, so as to protect the finish. The gun itself is excellent, retaining about 97% of its original parkerized finish. There is very minor wear around the high edges in general and around the muzzle. Hints of thinning on the grip straps. Comes with excellent period original plastic grips, though they are Colt grips. Minty bore.
