02/27/2024 – For sale is an excellent, early production, Type 99 Arisaka from the Kokura Arsenal. This rifle is a 23rd series production and features all the early features of a Type 99 rifle. This rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, dust cover, nose cap, and bolt. The safety knob and firing pin are marked “23” which could be a factory error being 5 digits away from the serial number. The rifle retains its full Imperial Mum. The rifle is in great condition overall for an early war rifle and still has its monopod, though it is slightly bent and beat up. The bore is in good shape and its mirror is bright towards the chamber but gets foggy towards the muzzle. The rifle comes with a sling with Japanese written on it.
