6/12/23 – This is an excellent example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. All matching with the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The frame and slide have a phosphate finish and the barrel is blued, giving the gun its iconic dual-tone finish. It has retained about 98% of its original finish with minor thinning and light spotty oxidation on the front strap. A couple of very light scratches at the right front of the slide. Since the majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, the profile views are minty. One spot of some surface rust on the magazine release. Fitted with excellent reddish bakelite grips. Comes with a period-correct “Waffen 135” marked Mauser magazine. Near-mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
