12/16/22 – This is an excellent example of a “dual-tone” BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” Nazi military acceptance proofs throughout. The barrel is blued, and the slide and frame have a phosphate finish, giving this gun its iconic dual-tone finish. It comes as a rig with a slightly worn 1944-dated holster and a dark phosphate “Waffen 135” proofed magazine. The gun itself has retained about 98% of its original finish. There is virtually no actual finish loss, but there is some spotty discoloration on the phosphate parts (typical for this finish) and light spotty oxidation along the barrel and on the top plate. Fitted with a set of nice period-correct black plastic grips. Excellent bore with strong rifling and some very light freckling in the grooves. De-cocker is functional.
