5/16/22 – This is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Pre-27 revolver manufactured in late 1953 – early 1954. Chambered in .357 Magnum and has a 3.5 inch barrel. It comes in a period-correct box that is numbered to match the gun. However, the box says 6 inch barrel, so we cannot say for sure if the numbering is original. The gun has retained about 97% of its original high polish finish with some roll marks on the cylinder and some tiny scratches on the butt of the frame. Comes with excellent wood grips and a rubber grip extension. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. There is a very light import mark in the well for the ejector rod.
