10/03/23 – Up for sale is an excellent condition Argentine Mauser model 1891 with exceptional bluing. The rifle is chambered in 5 rounds of 7.65×53 Mauser. The metal retains about 95% of its original bluing from the barrel to the receiver. There is some slight edge wear on some parts and a bare spot for where the Argentine Crest used to be but was ground away upon export. There are also some dings to the rear of the receiver by the bolt release. The bolt release has a nice fire blue. The rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, barrel, bolt, magazine, and cleaning rod which is rare. The stock is in great shape with the only blemish being a grind mark for when the cartouche was erased. The upper handguard still retains its copper wires but there is a portion of the handguard broken on the back right side. The bore is excellent with sharp rifling and is very bright. The rifle comes with an 1891 bayonet that has a serial number that doesn’t match the rifle but matches the scabbard and has its crest ground away. Also includes a reproduction frog for the scabbard.
