12/1/23 – This is an excellent example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the German military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs. It comes as a rig with a nice 1944-dated soft shell holster and two “Waffen 135” marked magazines. The gun itself has retained about 97% of its original finish with hints of wear around the muzzle and on the front edges of the slide. Fitted with excellent reddish bakelite grips. The bore is very shiny with great rifling, but there is an area of spotty oxidation about halfway down. De-cocker is functional.
